This course is a continuation of the previous semester's lectures "Political Science Methods I: Data Collection and Research Design". It provides a concise introduction to the quantitative analysis of research data. We will first discuss the importance of theoretical research as a necessary foundation for any empirical analysis. Next, we lay the groundwork by learning about inferential statistics and bivariate hypothesis testing. Students will then be introduced to the principles of linear regression analysis, its assumptions and applications. We expand this tool kit by also learning about interaction effects and models with binary dependent variables. Finally, students will  learn how to use the programming language "R" to apply these methods to different data sets.  At the end of the semester, students will not only be able to better comprehend the quantitative political science research literature but to apply these empirical techniques to their research and conduct their own quantitative data analyses.
